His childhood experiences of the natural world have provided a sustaining inspiration for his work as a wildlife sculptor. Having attended a foundation course at Cheltenham Art School, he travelled extensively in Africa drawing and studying wildlife. In 2010, he won the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Award with his polar bear sculpture, Sinking Feeling, and the edition of 12 sold out within the year.'For me, nature and sculpture are the perfect marriage. I see repetition in form, line, mass and detail throughout the natural world, sculpted over time but in perfect harmony.'
